Have you ever watched a child run freely, arms open, with a heart so full of trust? They donโt overthink. They donโt hesitate. They just believe. Thatโs the kind of faith Jesus speaks about in Mark 10:13โ14 when He says, โLet the children come to me; do not prevent them, for the Kingdom of God belongs to such as these.โ
But what does this mean for us today? As adults, we tend to complicate things. Life experiences make us guarded, skeptical, and sometimes even distant from God. We put up walls, analyze too much, and hesitate to trust fully. Yet Jesus tells us that the Kingdom of God is for those who come to Him with the same openness and trust as children.
Breaking Barriers: Learning to Trust Again
Many of us carry burdensโstress from work, financial worries, personal struggles. We feel like we need to have everything figured out before we can come to God. But look at children: they donโt wait until they understand everything before they seek love and security. They simply go. They run into the arms of those they trust. And thatโs exactly how God wants us to approach Him.
When was the last time you prayed without overthinking? When did you last trust God without doubting the outcome? Maybe today is the day to stop hesitating and simply say, โGod, I trust You.โ

Removing the Obstacles
The disciples in this passage thought they were doing the right thing by keeping the children away from Jesus, but they were actually blocking what He wanted mostโconnection. Sometimes, we do this to ourselves. We allow fear, shame, or doubt to get in the way. We tell ourselves, โIโm not good enoughโ or โGod has more important things to deal with.โ But Jesusโ words remind us: Nothing should prevent us from coming to Him.
Whatโs holding you back? Is it fear? Past mistakes? A belief that youโre unworthy? Jesus is calling you to let go of those barriers. Just as He welcomed the children, He welcomes youโfully, completely, and without hesitation.

Living with a Childlike Heart
Having childlike faith doesnโt mean being naive; it means being open, trusting, and hopeful. It means believing that even in the darkest times, God is still in control. It means allowing yourself to hope again, to love freely, and to trust that no matter what, God is always near.
So today, take a step closer to Him. Pray with honesty. Trust without overanalyzing. And most of all, remember that you are always welcome in His love.
