Whether we realize it or not, our words and actions influence others, especially the young and those still growing in faith. This is why Mark 9:42 carries such a powerful message:

“Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him if a great millstone were put around his neck and he were thrown into the sea.”

At first glance, this verse might seem harsh, but it’s actually a call to deep responsibility and love. Jesus is reminding us that our influence matters. What we say, how we act, and the choices we make shape the lives of those around us. The question is: are we leading others toward light and goodness, or are we causing them to stumble?

• Acting with integrity – Choose honesty and kindness even when no one is watching.
• Being a light – Whether online or in person, let your actions reflect goodness.

Heavenly Father, help me to be a light in the lives of others. May my words be filled with kindness, and my actions reflect Your love. Guide me to lead with wisdom, so that I may never cause anyone to stumble but instead bring them closer to You. Amen.
