As civil servants, our commitment to the welfare of overseas Filipino workers becomes a beacon of hope, lighting the path towards a stronger and more compassionate society.

It is with great pleasure and gratitude that I share with you the enriching experience of the Capability Enhancement Training on Overseas Employment Programs that took place at my beloved alma mater, De La Salle University, Dasmariรฑas.
As I reflect on the week that transpired, I am overwhelmed with a sense of inspiration and thankfulness for the opportunity to partake in this invaluable training. It was just last week when my journey began, representing our esteemed office, as appointed by our visionary PESO Manager.
The halls of De La Salle University, where I once pursued my nursing education, became the backdrop for an enlightening and empowering experience. The comprehensive sessions were spearheaded by distinguished speakers, each contributing to our knowledge base and shedding light on the crucial facets of overseas employment programs.
Mr. Paul Bernard G. Santiago, a beacon of knowledge and experience, kicked off the proceedings by delving into the Services and Programs of the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW). His insights were not only informative but served as a reminder of the pivotal role OFWs play as pillars of our nation’s economy.
Following Mr. Santiago’s enlightening discourse, Ms. Avelina Sheryl Briton-Caya took the floor to unravel the multifaceted initiatives of the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA). Her presentation underscored the unwavering commitment to the welfare and protection of our overseas Filipino workers.
The overarching theme of the training emphasized the significance of the OFW community in our economic landscape. It served as a compelling reminder of the responsibility we bear to enhance their capabilities and ensure their well-being.
In the spirit of gratitude, I extend my thanks to our PESO City of Carmona Manager, Mr. Edwin E. Tolentino, for giving me the opportunity to attend this training. The knowledge gained is not only an asset to my career growth but also a testament to our dedication in championing the welfare and protection of our OFWs.
As I move forward, I carry the torch of enlightenment ignited during this training. Let my actions be a testament to my commitment to empower and safeguard the invaluable members of our OFW community.
